How do you tell your parents you have a boyfriend?

I'll be 17 in a week. And i've been dating my boyfriend since 11/11/08. So thats about 2 and a half years. he lives in a different state and for vacation my parents planned to go to an area 20 minutes away from where he lives. I havent seen him in a longgg time. I was hoping my parents would let him tag along. I mean, whats better for a parent than supervising their child's first date? I just dont know how to tell them. My parents are both strict and when they see people my age holding hands they automatically assume theyre having sex. They dont want me to date till im a year into college. I dont know how to bring it up and explain it to them.
